I've been battling with Bert Olivier's essay 'Trauma and Literature: Derrida, 9/11 and Hart's The Reconstructionist.'<br /><br />It's heavy going! I'm enjoying it though. I'm picking apart what the ideas of 'trauma' presented and seeing how I can apply that to my own analysis.<br /><br />After this one, I have Paul Neumarkt's essay, 'The Orgy of Self-Renunciation: an analysis of the motif of war in modern literature.'<br /><br />So yeah, I'm working! Hopefully, people will read it, comment on it, and I will then be spurred on to get finished.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: times new roman;">I really, really want to finish it this year, and so, I figure if I put my progress into the public domain, I will feel like people are watching me and so I have to get there.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: times new roman;">So fiar, I've written about 15,000 words and then scrapped them. I'm starting again from scratch with the write up.
